New Years Resolutions and Dry January

During the lull between Christmas and New Year, whilst many of us are away from work and school, we spend time reevaluating our choices, habits and lifestyles and many of us attempt to decide on a New Year's resolution or two. From cutting back on unhealthy food cravings and quitting smoking, to getting healthier and joining (and attending!) a gym, learning a new skill, procrastinating less and looking after our money, we all need a little inspiration and motivation, and we all need to remember it's never too late to make a lifestyle change.

Many people choose to reduce their alcohol intake; and, for the past five years Alcohol Concern have campaigned for Dry January, encouraging people to give up alcohol for the month and become more aware of the health effects of drinking alcohol. According to Alcohol Concern, of those who take part, almost 80% of participants saved money, 62% slept better and had more energy and almost half of the participants lost weight. That's three advantages there already... If you would like more information and advice, see the Drink Aware website.
