Current Opportunities
Guitar Tutor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a guitar tutor to join the Smart Music Project within the Fleet Phoenix team.
‘SMART Music’ is a FREE youth programme delivered to young people from varying backgrounds and abilities. The project caters particularly to young people with learning, social and physical disabilities but not to the exclusion of others.
The programme offers an open access, free music tuition programme for 11–19-year-olds, along with development opportunities for young people who would like to express themselves and learn through creative means.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our friendly youth music team. This position would potentially suit a confident guitarist who is looking to start their career in teaching or someone with a proven track record.
This can be either a permeant post with Fleet Phoenix or a self-employed post for a tutor.
The ability to teach to graded guitar examinations is desirable.
The right candidate will need to understand young people needs, have a good listening ear, willing to learn, strong communication skills, a supportive team member and a want to improve young people’s lives and opportunities through music.
This post is for 2.5 hours per week between 4-6.30pm Tuesday term time only.
Salary dependent on experience and relevant training and if this will be a self-employed post or not.
Relevant on-going training and development will be provided to the successful applicant.
All posts require a clear enhanced DBS disclosure and receipt of references.
