You Can Make a Difference!

There are a million different ways you can make a difference - just find one that works for you!

We love the unusual personal challenges people take on in order to raise money to help the lives of young people and their families in Hart.

From sky dives and half marathons to shopping evenings and quiz nights.  Anything goes!

Here are some ideas to inspire you. We’d love to talk through your idea with you and support you every step of the way.

First things first though - don’t forget to make a fundraising page

Adrenaline Challenges

Do you fancy a challenge that takes you out of your comfort zone? Why not try a sky dive, an abseil or maybe even a wing walk?

Fleet Phoenix arranges adrenaline group challenges for anyone to take part – so why not try something a little daring and raise money for our local charity?

Depending on numbers, this can raise around £2,000. Keep your eyes peeled for more information of the next one…

Support a Local Family

Fleet and the Hart District is an affluent area but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a lot of families who do not fit into this category, in fact there are a large number of families who struggle.

So, if your family can, a donation of food, money, clothing, household items etc would be an amazing way to support those in our small community who cannot afford these.

A local family who wanted to show their appreciation for the charity, made an anonymous donation so that they can help ensure that others get the support just like they have.

Local

Events

During the year, we attend as many local events as we can. This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the charity and to raise money by putting on a tombola and raffles.

We couldn’t do this without your support of generous donation of bottles and raffle prizes to us to use. They are great events and really well attended by the community.

If you're holding an event and would like to fundraise on our behalf let us know and we can help.

Keep an eye on our news pages for all our events.

Make Music and Fundraise

Fleet Phoenix runs music clubs and through this we have some incredibly talented young people.

Each Christmas, they put on a Christmas concert where they showcase their music for friends, family and anyone from the community who enjoys live music.

We ask for a donation to attend which helps to raise money for the charity and the music clubs in particularly.

If you have a talented group of friends and want to put on a concert, consider charging family and friends to attend to raise funds to help young people experience the joy of learning to play music.

Fun Fitness Challenges

A fun way to get out in the fresh air and get fit whilst raising money for charity is to do a sponsored run or walk.

So, if you love to do either, why not raise money for charity at the same time?

These can be done as part of an organised event or a challenge you set yourself. There are some great local events including Fleet Half Marathon and Fleet Fun Walk.

Quiz

Nights

We have run numerous fantastic quiz nights locally and even teamed up with a local restaurant (The Spice Merchant) so people can enjoy a wonderful meal while taking part in the quiz.

These events are a great evening out with friends and family whilst raising money. There is even a raffle and other fun games to play too! These evenings can raise over £1,000 and help to raise more awareness.

Join one of our quiz nights or hold your own!

Clubs and Societies

Are you in a club or society that could organise a members' fundraising get-together?

The Lions have been long-time supporters of ours. They continue to sponsor our summer projects which are a big part of our year and they also donate time and money if we need further help. They do amazing work for the community. We have also had a Girl Guides group from Hartley Wintney and a Twinning Organisation fundraise for us.

Virtual

Events

Could you travel the globe virtually? By committing to run, walk or cycle a milestone distance, whatever that is for you, and ask your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you?

One of our local secondary schools did just that. Court Moor School set up ‘Court Moor on Tour’, which was a virtual event to circumnavigate the globe. Students and their families ran, walked and cycled and logged their mileage on an app. Together the school community raised a mind blowing £26,000 for us. Wow what an achievement! A million thank you's!

Get

Creative!

Do you run a local business, or do you have a hobby that you could turn into a money raising opportunity?

A few local businesses have held shopping evenings and special offers for us where a percentage of the money spent was given to the charity.

Also, some talented local people have turned their hobbies into fundraising by selling wreaths, and homemade crafts to raise money for Fleet Phoenix.

This is great to promote not only us but the businesses too.

Online Raffles and Auctions

During the recent events, our fundraising has dropped a little, so we decided to start online raffles which has worked well and with some great prizes donated from the community too.

It is a good way to engage people without them leaving their homes!

If you have any items you can donate or sell via ebay or Ziffit please consider donating the income to us.

Blondies with Icing

Fabulous Cake Sales

A delicious way to raise money for charity is to hold a bake sale.

Get your work colleagues, students, friends to get baking some yummy treats to sell at your workplace or school.

No one can resist a slice of cake, biscuit or cupcake whilst doing their bit for charity

Donate at the Supermarket

We are very lucky that we have great support from our local supermarkets – Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tesco and Waitrose.

We have donation points in all three of the local Sainsbury’s stores and we have been the recipient of their community fund too.

We get fresh items as part of the Food Share with Tesco plus they helped us hugely during the recent lockdowns.

Morrison’s has donated Easter Eggs, breakfasts and lunches during half term, been a collection point for our toy appeal and more.

Waitrose has donated raffle prizes and let us have collection points in store for our toy collection.

This support from our local supermarkets is huge for us. Please consider donating in store when you see the collection baskets.
